great toy, but why the cheap cardboard box?
I bought this for my niece. She has really enjoyed building towers and castles and of course all the adults enjoyed building with her. My only complaint is that for the price you pay you really should get a reusable storage box.

Amazing!
I debated this purchase for awhile because these tiles are expensive. But, I'm glad I finally made the investment. All five of my kids, ages 2-12, love them. They play with them daily and get so excited about the stuctures that they are able to make. These little tiles increase creativity and imagination like most toys that we have at home are unable to do. The kids don't get tired of them because there are endless possibilities for play. If you can come up with the money, you won't regret the investment! My kids would trade several of their other toys for one box of these.

Fabulous toy
I saw my grandson play with these in his preschool class and bought him his own set for his birthday. They are expensive but well worth every penny. Having his own set at home allows him time to experiment with the many possibilities that this toy affords. He builds, experiments, makes homes and playgrounds for his "people" and has a ball. He can play with it alone or along with a friend. He is just turning three so he is at the bottom end of the age range so I see him getting lots of years of enjoyment out of this gift.

Probably the best toy ever invented
I purchased this toy after seeing how much my then 2 year old loved playing with it at his daycare. Quite easily the BEST TOY PURCHASE EVER MADE!!! It really enabled a child to build whatever their imagination allows. Since it's purchase over two years ago, my older son (now 5) plays with it everyday. Also my younger son has been playing with it since he was 18 months old. Together they play with it every day for hours building "garages" or "racetracks" for their hot wheels toys, "castles" with their little green soldiers, "spaceships", etc... You can use them to also "teach" colors. We shine a flashlight and place two clear color tiles to see what color they make. Kids love to build them and place a lantern in them to see it glow in the dark when lights go off. We take it everywhere for vacation. When family and friends come over it's the first toy that gets pulled out. Our nephews and neighbors in age from 3-13 years old. They all love it also. It's a pricey present but guaranteed to entertain and educate for years. Best toy purchase bar none. It wins over all the fads every time!!!! Invest in a clear box to store. We haven't lost a single piece in 2.5 years of owning it.

Fantastic building set
I am in agreement with all of the other reviews here. This is a marvelous building set. The colors are vivid and the tiles are sturdy. My 3 year old grandson is really into building these days. He has Duplos, Tinker Toys, and Wedgits at home and has been spending a lot of time with them. I decided to get this set to have at my house. He came over today and spent the majority of the time playing with this. He didn't want to go home when his mom came to get him and he had been here for over 8 hours!

We made buildings and roadways, train tracks and stations. It took very little guidance on my part for him to be able to do it himself. I did show him how 6 of the equilateral triangles would form a hexagon, so he made some himself. Then he took the isosceles triangles and started putting them together in a similar way. It wouldn't make a closed figure, which frustrated him. He asked why it wouldn't close, so I told him that the number of degrees in the vertex angle was not a number that would divide 360 evenly. Believe it or not, that seemed to satisfy him! When he left today, he told me he likes my toys! It was a lovely day. I have 2 more grandchildren younger than him and another on the way. These should give lots of enjoyment for many more years.
